The Aftermath 07-05-2026

Dad stands in the living room holding his phone and looking baffled at all three children asleep by 7:00 PM. Kid-1 is slumped asleep on the couch beside her phone and blue raspberry drink, Kid-2 is sprawled across a beanbag, and Kid-3 is curled up on the rug hugging her stuffed bunny near scattered Legos. A large easel shows Grandma and Pa's packed schedule of fishing, swimming, Legos, lunch, games, ice cream, and dinner out. Dad asks, 'Mom, what did you do to them? They're all sleeping!' and Grandma replies through the phone, 'We kept them busy.'
